Primary Program

Our Primary Program is tailored to meet the developmental needs of young learners. This community of children is a mixed-age learning group where students grow and thrive. Over the course of the three-year-cycle, students develop close ties to their peers and teachers.

In this mixed-age learning community, children ages 2 years 9 months up to 6 years attend independently (no adult companions attend class) for either 1, 2, or 3 days each week. Families receive a monthly classroom newsletter, weekly classroom photos, as well as interesting articles to read/share. We welcome adult volunteers for projects, celebrations, etc. (schedule ahead of time, please).

*NOTE: Toileting independence is a necessary pre-requisite for application to our this program.

Now accepting applications for SPRING 2019!

Children ages 2 years 9 months up to 6 years may attend 1, 2, or 3 half-days each week. Morning work time includes a healthy snack, music/movement and a read-aloud story, and finishes with time spent outdoors exploring and discovering with friends.

As our program expands and enrollment grows, students 5 to 6 years old will be able to attend full days (until 3pm). During the morning, they will learn in the mixed-age group, serving as role models, working independently and collaboratively on works of their choosing. In the afternoon, they will gather for a single-age learning group to work with their teacher(s) on advanced Montessori materials, take on responsibility in the classroom, and participate in special activities and excursions.
